Question
Hello my name is Oscar and i would like to know if getting a (AA) Associate in Arts Degree in a community college would help me becoming a California Highway Patrol?

Answer
Hello Oscar,
I could speculate on your question with a probable ...yes.
But, the logical approach, would be for you to contact human resources, or the CHP personnel office, and speak with a recruiter.
The only thing I would add, is that when you seek an AA or AS degree in a community college, keep it in mind, that you may want to ultimately end up at a 4 year college for a BS, or BA. Therefore, make sure ALL the classes you take, transfer, for the eventual matriculation to another school.
Also, when you check with the CHP recruiter, have a list of questions you need answers to. Make sure there are no other issues that could disqualify you. You need to do this prior to spending time, energy and finances on a goal that may not be within your grasp.
Also, consider other law enforcement agencies, and regulatory organizations.
Good Luck,
loren
