Question
I have some misdemeanors what kind of jobs could i get in this field?

Answer
Hello Steve,
Well, that depends on various factors.
What kind of misdemeanors, how many, how recent, pattern oriented etc. All these considerations will factor in the mix.
If they are theft based, you will have some problems associated with the honesty/character dimensions. If they are reckless based, you will have trouble with decision making needs, if they are domestic violence based, it pretty much steps on your opportunities.
With domestic violence, requires the attendant ban of firearms. Carrying and possession of firearms is a precondition of being a police officer.
Judgement, maturity, and capacity to recognize social standards is an important set of considerations.
You may want to visit the agency you are interested in, talk to the recruiter, personnel employee, or human resource personnel and ask them to do an assessment.
You might also consult with an attorney, and see what options are available to you for records expunging, sealing, pardons et al.
Some consideration may be advanced if these misdemeanors occurred during a period of "youthful indiscretions", rather than that of a mature adult.
You may also consider looking into jobs in the "Regulatory" field, and there are a ton of them.
Generally, these are unarmed positions. They still do enforcement duty, but it has more to do with standards and practices, assessments, and related practices.
Based on the limited information in your question, this is about all I can offer you.
Hope it is atleast somewhat helpful to you.
Good Luck, and regards.
loren
