Question
I'm very interested in police work, i have a few questions
1. how long does it take to become a homicide detective?
2. is there question you must answer before going into the police force?
3. what subjects must i study in year 11 and 12 to be able to get into the police work?
4. what age must i be before joining?
5. Can i do police work as my work experience?
6. what marks are necessary to be able to join the police force?

Answer
Kirra-lea:

1:  Years.  It's not something you can do right away.  Usually homicide detectives have at least 5 years 'on the job' and most of the time more.

2:  Not really but you do have to complete a full background investigation.

3:  Concentrate on English, grammar, creative writing, journalism, and things like that.  Police officers write far more than they do anything else.

4:  It depends on your state.  In most, it's 21.

5:  I don't understand this question.

6:  The better grades you have, the better off you'll be.  That goes for ANY career.
