Experience I have been assigned to the vice unit, the tactical response team and am currently a certified crime scene investigator and a certified Police Instructor. I am curently retired on disability after being injured in the line of duty. I retired on August 23, 2000 after 23 years as a Police Officer. I am now living in the Ft Myers Florida area..
Question I am 27 yrs old and i am in school for criminal investigation and i was interested in becoming a police officer then trying to move up into Detective.. I was recently told i have a mild case of being bi-polar will that effect me becoming cop??

I am really not sure. I would think a lot has to do with your medical records and medications. I would go for it and see what happens. I wouldn't think being bi-polar is an automatic denile of employment. Every persons situation is different. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
