Question
Hello, my name is Kyle, i'm a 15 year old male, and a couple of weeks ago i started thinking about going into a law enforcement career, but my vision's not that great, would i still be able to join the law enforcement. My plan was to join the Marines straight out of High School, and after serving a couple year i would go into the Police Force and then later join the SWAT team. But since my visions not that great people are telling me you'll never make it, should i listen to them and give up? Becoming a police officer/SWAT member is something i would love to be apart of.
please reply back,
Kyle

Answer
Kyle,

I'm sure your eyesight can be corrected with glasses or contacts. It sounds like you have a good plan. By being a veteran you would get as much as 20% on top of any civil service entrance exams. Don't let someone else sway you to not pursue your dream. Go for it. It's a rewarding and fun career.

Good Luck

Jim
