Question
My 19 year old son is thinking about a career in Marine Police.  We currently live in Delaware - what kind of education does this field require?

Answer
Hi Debby,

I'm assuming you are talking about the Police on Boats and not Marines as in the Military, at least I'm hoping that is right.

Your son would do well to take Criminal Justice in school and have a good knowledge of boats and boating, swimming, and anything related to the water.

My department does not have a Marine Police division, so I am not familiar with the requirements. Call the Delaware State Police and inquire from them what your son should study, they will best be able to steer you and your son in the right direction.
