Question
If an officer is pulled over on the left shoulder and you are in the right lane getting ready to exit the express way is it possible for him to clock you if he is currently pulling off the shoulder and getting back on the road?  Also if you ask to see the radar and he gets really upset and say you are calling him a lair, does he have the right to refuse showing it to you?  One more question if he choose to show it to you is he suppose to bring the radar to your car....or make you get out and walk back to the police car?  Is the radar suppose to be plug into anything as he show it to you and is he suppose to press any buttons before showing you what the radar actually reads?  Please help me find the answers to my questions.  Thank you so much

Answer
Ashley,

The radar systems have advanced since I was on the job. To the best of my knowledge yes it is possible for him to clock you on radar in that situation. I always offered to let people see the radar and their speed. On the ones we used it locked on until you reset it. The person had to come to the car to view it and it was plugged into a 12 volt power supply back then. I truly don't know that much about the newer radar. Try searching online you may be able to find your answers through the radar unit manufacturer. Sorry I wasn't more help/
