Do you know if there are any companies or groups that will help to get all the paperwork together for applying for the police dept. I moved around a lot because of my parents jobs when i was a kid. And have also had a lot of jobs before and during college. I switched jobs based on what would work with my school schedule many times. Also the DMV here in Vegas said they could only go back 10 years. If I am 33 I'm not sure how to get complete driving records for the three states i have lived in. I also had noticed that I got my work history from the Social Security Office and paid for it back to when i was 16, and there were jobs missing. Do you know if this is what the Police Dept. goes off of. I applied in Henderson NV and was disqualified for leaving something off. I took my time and thought I had everything.

You bring up a very good question and point. There are no companies or businesses that do what you are talking about. But you may find what you need by running your own background check on yourself.

I would look up on the Internet and review a couple of personal background check companies. Then run a couple on yourself and see what they come up with. That should give you a really good base to go on. They are usually pretty good.

Police Departments go off of what is in the State Records and City records for places you listed. Make sure you check for all records on you in the cities and states you listed on your apps.

I am a 30+ year veteran police officer, I am currently the Police Academy Commander of an Academy in North FLorida. I have been training police officers since 1993 and have trained them in all aspects of law enforcement, including firearms, Driving and legal subjects including patrol techniques and others and training all over the world. I have trained over 5000 officers worldwide in the last 16 years of training.
