Question
Im already a police officer in the state of maryland. My question is this, my wife is trying to become a poice officer also, she experimented with cocaine one time back in 2000 before I met her, is that going to DQ her from any police department??

Answer
Chris,

The main thing is that she is honest about it. That's the main thing they are looking for in entrance level polygraphs. It's not a good thing however, they do realize that people make mistakes and especially in their younger years. I would say alot would depend on her age at the time and the circumstances. But no it would not automatically DQ her chances.

Good Luck

Jim
