Question
I'm a 27 year old from Washington, and when I was 21 my wife and I got in a fight, (pushing and shoving) a neighbor called the police and I got a DV.  Now we are still Married and have two children and  I want to become a Police officer.  Is there a way?

Answer
David,

Last I knew with a DV charge a person cannot carny a weapon. We had an officer charged with DV and he lost his job because he was no longer legally allowed to carry a weapon. I retired due to an injury 9 yrs ago so things may have changed since that time. I would call your local PD or prosecutors office to double check. It may well have changed.
