Question
Hello, I'm 33 years old, and for the last year I've been trying to change careers and become a police officer.  I have been taking night classes and I am about halfway through my associates degree in law enforcement.  I have been applying to departments, and I'm on several eligibility lists.  I recently took my first psychological exam, and I did not pass.  My question is, are they all the same, or similar?  I answered the questions truthfully, and will do so the next time I'm eligible to take an exam.  The results will probably be the same.  Or is it possible I did not come across well to the interviewer?  Does a degree help or change anything in regards to a psych exam?  This is something that I've wanted to do for some time now, but I would hate to be wasting my efforts on a goal that can never be achieved.  Thank you for your help

Answer
Jason:

Degree has nothing to do with the PE.  If you had an actual "sit down" with a doctor, after taking testing, then you might be able to get a copy of the results.

Failing the PE is going to be a major issue in any department you go to at this point.  You might consider going to your own Doc or hiring one, and finding out exactly what your scores on various tests are, as well as get their opinion.  At this point, that is going to likely be your only real option.
