Careers: Police/need advice!

i am currently serving in iraq in the army, i am a mp and i am interested in becoming a civilian police officer in a couple years when i get out. i want to eventually go canine  when i get out and will be more then willing to go threw the academy and become a regular police officer and work to becoming a canine officer! i have read what you wrote on becoming a police officer after the military and need to know if you have any advice on what i should do to get started preparing for when i get out so i can have a better chance at getting into the academy and then any advice you can give me on working  to become a canine officer!   i am grateful for anything you can tell me on joining the force!

Your best bet is try to get some college while you are in the Military. Serving in the Military and in particular as an MP is a HUGE benefit to you and most desirable to Police Departments when looking for qualified candidates. If you have a College Degree to go along with that, WOW, Police Departments will be clamoring to hire you.

Keep your nose clean in the Military, look for Departments that have Canine units (not all do) and you will do fine.
