Answer
Ryan,

We deal with people, we answer radio calls for service and detect criminal activity mainly using a patrol car. The working environment varies. We would in many different types of neighborhoods. We deal with an array of situations. It's a great, demanding, and exciting career. 99% of this career is your mouth. If you can talk to people and remember to treat people like you want to be treated you will have few problems. The pay can vary, on average starting pay is approximate. $35,000.00 to highest pay maybe $60,000.00 per yr/ Base pay. The benefits are awesome, health care, retirement ect. It is a competitive career but the job outlook is good. There will always be crime so there will always be a need for Police Officers.
