I am a 15 yr police officer, I have been asked to speak at a middle school career day about becoming a patrol officer. I could use some topics, advice, stories, etc. Thank you

Thanks for the question.


Start by being honest with the students. They can tell if someone is giving them the B.S.

Start by just telling your own story, how did you get hired? what kinds of things do you look for when on patrol? What is the hiring process/requirements for police officers? If you have one available, show them a video of some departmental training events.
