Question
hi, i'm 13 and i am thinking about joining the SWAT or special forces. I'm really good when handling guns. but when i hold a gun my hand isn't exactly still. my hand shakes from side to side about a millimetre or so when i'm holding a gun. even when i'm holding something light my hand still shakes. i know that when u hold something ur hand is supposed move side to side slowly, but when i hold something my hand shakes quickly. And no, i don't have artheritus. my hands shake only a little bit, but they shake quickly. is there something wrong with my hands or am i normal
Thanks!

Answer
HI James,

My guess is at 13 you have not developed your upper body strength needed to hold a gun in the firing position for a period of time.

May I suggest getting a milk jug, filling it about  of the quarter of the way, then do it and while watching TV or whatever, hold it out at shoulders height. Do this until your muscles shake a lot, then rest for 20 minutes and do it again. Do this for about 3-4 repetitions and over a period of time, your hands will stop shaking, because your strength will support the weight of a firearm better.

Any shoulder and forearm strength training should help get rid of this problem.

Be safe..
