Question
My name is Hilary, I am 15 and I like jobs with action. I was thinking about many different jobs like us marshal, FBI, stuff like that. I like the fact of having a gun for protection, so a job that requires gun shooting is a plus. And I love speed driving. Also I like running, when I was in the 6th grade I beat everybody even the boys in races.I am competative.and I used to want to be a sex crime and abuse detective but I don't think that I would be able to handle that job. I was sexually assaulted and I wanted to be the one to catch the bad guys and get them off the streets so what happened to me won't happen to anybody else. I attacked from behind and thrown to the ground and kicked. I felt dirty and to this day I am scared to tell anyone. I wouldn't be able to handle the crimes though. Umm Anyways I am 4'11". Police careers don't care about height do they. What career in your opinion would suit me best?

Your career choice is yours to make. If you want to be a cop, be one. You just have to make up your mind to do it. Also BTW you would not be the shortest recruit I have had. I have had others shorter than you. :)

I like answering questions about how to become a police officer, and questions about why did an officer do this or that type questions. I also like answering any questions you may have about police work in general. I am a 30+ year veteran police officer, I am currently the Police Academy Commander of an Academy in North FLorida. I have been training police officers since 1993 and have trained them in all aspects of law enforcement, including firearms, Driving and legal subjects including patrol techniques and others and training all over the world. I have trained over 5000 officers worldwide in the last 16 years of training.

I am a published author in Accident Investigation from the University of North Florida, Institute of Police Technology and Management. Also have written and published on the Internet, "So You Want to be a Cop (Police Officer) in Florida?" you can Google it..

I have 2 degrees, in Criminal Justice.
