Question
Can somebody with Permanent Disability from birth find a desk job with the Police force?

Answer
Hello Adit,
I really don't know the answer to your question. But, I hope to offer you some suggestions that may be helpful.
You need to inquire with the specific Human Resource dept. of the agency you have an interest. You may want to make several inquiries, to a number of agencies...You also may want to consult with an attorney, and an advocacy organization about such parameters, and the recommended course of action.
And, when you inquire, you'll need to articulate what your limitations are...You won't be able to use such a broad band of generalization , such as you describe. If your limitations are such, that they do not interfere with the required expectations of the position, I think you could compete.
If your limitations are such, that the feasibility is just not within the stretch of existing laws/regs, or other governing authority, then you may have to face up to that as well.

Further, I suggest to you, that there are an abundance or "REGULATORY" opportunities that exist. These do not, typically require the same standards for employment, as a police agency. They offer positions that are investigative oriented, but in a specific, and limited area of enforcement.
So, consider those options as well.
And, you need to be honest with yourself, on what you can, and cannot achieve. Perhaps ask a Doctor, Clergyman, family friend etc, to help you marshal an honest assessment, of your wherewithal, and how that realistically comports with what your preliminary interests are.
Does that make sense?
I think it important, that you are fair with yourself, then, given your range..go forth...
Hope this is helpful. My area of expertise is not human resources, but with limited grasp and association with that area, is how I offer you this modest response.
Good Luck,
Semper Fi,
loren
