Question
Dear Sir, I am a serving British Police Officer working for the Cheshire
Fireams Unit. I have been in the force for a total of 8yrs I spent 4 of these
as a patrol officer and the. The past 4yrs working within the firearms
environment. My parents own a house in North Reddington, FL and I was
looking to try and transfer to the Florida Police Department and just
wondered if this was a realisitic possibility with my current skill level and if
so what the process involves? Any information would be grately
appreciated. Thank you in advanced

Answer
Adam:

Believe it or not, yes, there is a realistic chance.   One good thing is that your parents already own property there.  That will help.   Your next step will be to get a 'right to work' permit (aka a 'green card').   Without that you can't do much else.  The next thing to do would be to talk to the local PD that you want to work for.  You'll obviously have to attend some training classes, but overall, this should NOT be an issue.

Drop me a line if you'd like at zebra305@earthlink.net  ...as I have a question of my own.  And I may be able to provide some additional insight for you.
