Question
I recently looked into the florida State Trooper position, and on the requirements they ask for a letter of reccomendation, how does that work? Who is the most qualified for writting that for me? I do have an uncle who was in the air force for 21 years and now is retired but he was in the air force for computer engineering. I dont know if he could be a possiblity but I was wondering how do i go about doing that?

Answer
David, it is not important that a letter of recommendation come from someone in law enforcement.  Someone who served in the air force for 21 years would be a valuable source for outlining your sterling qualities.  What recruiters are looking for is information that would indicate you would be a valuable candidate for the position.  The letter should describe your qualities...especially those having to do with your work history, honesty, dependability, etc.  It also would not hurt to have more than one letter from someone who has known you for many years, i.e. college professors, former employers.  Good luck in your efforts!
