Question
Okay I know it's stupid to stereotype people based on what they wear. However recently I've been seeing a lot of people that look like gang members, in my neighborhood, always in groups never alone. Thing is, outside of some delinquents we've never had gangs around my neighborhood, and I'm kind of worried. Should I be?

Also please keep in mind I already admitted it was dumb on my part to pre judge based on outward appearance, but just in case, I'd rather be safe than sorry.


Oh and so far everyone I've seen has been a white guy in a big red shirt, if that means anything, though one of them was with a black guy.

That's all, and I do apologize for bothering, I understand that this is probably just my imagination being over reactive, but I get worried easily.

Hi Alex,

Its not stupid. If its enough to make you notice, then its enough for you to check on. Have you called and asked your local police gang unit if they have any new activity in your neighborhood? Thats what you should do, call your local police department and ask to speak to the Gang unit. Discuss this with them, its not stupid.

I am a 30+ year veteran police officer, I am currently the Police Academy Commander of an Academy in North FLorida. I have been training police officers since 1993 and have trained them in all aspects of law enforcement, including firearms, Driving and legal subjects including patrol techniques and others and training all over the world. I have trained over 5000 officers worldwide in the last 16 years of training.
