Answer
Hi Diana,

First let me ease your mind. If you did nothing, you have nothing to fear. Unlike you see on TV, police can just come arrest you because they feel like it, or someone just accuses you of something. Police have to have some sort of proof that you are the one that committed a crime before they can arrest you for anything. In addition just because someone says you did something is not nearly enough for you to get any kind of trouble.

If your ex-boyfriend lost his wallet and later his identity was stolen the police should be able to track down who was how they did it and they will have proof send as to who was. You're saying it was a new so that should not be a problem.

In the world of law enforcement we have to have what is known as "probable cause"before we can arrest anyone for crime. What that means is that we have to have proof that would lead a reasonable person to believe the same thing given the same set of circumstances.

So ease your mind and calm down a little bit. If you had nothing to do with any kind of identity theft involving your ex-boyfriends wallet and information then you really have nothing to worry about. You more than likely will never hear from the police.
