Careers: Police/Military discharge on BI

Hey sir,
I've heard a lot about your expertise and wish to ask a a question about my discharge affecting my chances of being a LEO in Florida.

I have a General Under Honorable conditions discharge for "use of spice" however no evidence was found and i have a packet with evidence against why i could not have engaged in it. i was military police. Well i applied for the EOT and it was approved and i was given a conditional for a reserve position with a small agency in brevard county. Today i took my urinalysis and have an appointment to speak with my BI for my polygraph and background investigation. Now id consider im on my way to becoming a cop i cant help but feel that my discharge will bring it all to a halt. Can you shed some light on this situation?
Thank you

Hey JM,

You would not have made it as far as you did if the discharge was going to hurt you in any way. When you go into speak to the BI, just be honest and you should be fine. You had a General Discharge not a Dishonorable one. I think you are being to hard on yourself. As long as your discharges are not DH then 99% you are fine. As for the spice use,if you did just be honest about it, if you did not, then stick to your guns for that also. Either way just be honest and you should be fine if that is all that is in your background.
