Careers: Police/Background disqualification

Hi, i was just removed from the pool list. They told me its background & driving record; but ive never been convicted of a crime; i was processed but never charged never in jail. Yes fingerprinted. AA charges which were dropped. Do i have a chance to appeal? Im in NJ

Not sure, truth be told.  Different states have different criteria, and even if you weren't convicted of something, being charged with it might invoke a 'morals' clause.  Certainly try and appeal, but it will also depend in many cases on how recent the charges are/were.  Driving issues are also a factor, too many tickets in a short time period will flag you for sure, as will DUI's and unpaid parking cites.
