Question
Hi Robert, thanks for reading this, I am 21 years old and am worried about one thing I did from my past which I wanted to know how much it would hurt me for becoming a police officer. My record is totally clean and haven't done anything bad at all for years and currently. The only thing is that when I was 16, a girl and I exchanged a inappropriate picture and I had no idea at the time it was illegal and I wouldn't have done it if I knew it was illegal. I just want to know how much you think this will affect me? Theres no trace of it but I just want to be totally honest with them during the background investigation.   Thank you

Answer
In my opinion, I don't believe the incident, as you described it , would hinder your employment as a police officer.  However, each police department has different policies for hiring candidates.   Good luck with your career pursuit in law enforcement.

Bob
