Question
Paul,
I am seriously considering a career change.  I've been in accounting for the past eight years and I have a B.S. and MBA in business.  I am very interested in both police work and animals.  How do you get into the field of dog training?  Do you have to be a member of the police force?  Do you have any resources to suggest to me?

Thanks,
Teresa

Answer
Teresa, its apleasure to answer your question. First and foremost, I am a LE canine trainer. I do alot of private sector work and will continue to do so. Now as for your aspirations, I would get a job with a police agency and work the road for a few years. Then venture into the canine program. You have a tremendous background but I would take a few course's in animal behavior to get a jump on the training aspect. Dog psychology is a vital tool to a trainer. Get these few ideas working then get back with me and I will help you along!!
Good Luck
Paul
