Question
I am a 22 year old police applicant.  I contacted the IRS to get all my past employment history.  From the ages of 15-18 I had about 5 or 6 jobs that I only worked a few days.  Do I need to list these for the background investigation?  How do they check where I have worked?  If I don't list them and they find out am I disqualified?

Answer
Chris,

Thanks for the question.

To be on the safe side, I would list all jobs that you received any type of payment for services or work performed. If you don't list places of employment in chronological order and there are unexplained gaps in your history, that could definitely pose a problem.

If your application has a list of 5-6 places for employment list them. Why would you not want to list a place of employment, even if was only for a few days?

Good luck!
