Hello.  My senior Mom asked me to ask this question.  She has a 'Pearl Harbor Survivor' license plate on her car (in memory of my Dad) and a handicapped sticker.  I think this is asking for trouble.  Should she get a regular license plate?  Thank you.  BJAdams
Answer -
Bonnie Jean, I can see your concern  if the plate was issued to her husband and he was not only the Pearl Harbor veteran but also handicapped.  The handicapped sticker is issued to legitimate handicapped people, so if your mom is using that plate and she is not the person it is issued to, she is in violation and could be cited THIS IS NOT THE PROBLEM.  MY MOTHER HAS THE HANDICAPPED LICENSE PLATE LEGITIMATELY.  MY CONCERN IS THAT SEEING THE LICENSE PLATE WILL SHOW SHE IS OLDER, AND THE HANDICAPPED STICKER WILL SHOW THAT SHE IS SLOW.  THE WRONG PEOPLE MAY THINK SHE WOULD BE EASY TO ROB, OR WHATEVER.

Answer
Well, if this is the case than every handicapped person in the country has to run around paraniod that they will be robbed. If she is indeed handicapped, the only way she can utilize handicapped spaces is by using the plates. I think your SENIOR MOM has to make up her own mind here.
