Careers: Police/Police Auctions

Question
This is, I hope, a simple question.  How do items like computers, CD players, and so on wind up in police auctions?  Thanks.

Answer
Hi Bill,
These items can be recovered property, either stolen or found. They are items that are not claimed by the owner. They could be evidence that was never claimed after the case went to trial. The Police will usually hold items for a certain period then auction items off every so often. Hope this helped. If I can be of more help, just ask.

Jim
