Question
What do Police do in training for training to be a Police officer???

Answer
Elizabeth,

Thanks for the question.

There are many things that people do to prepare to become a police officer. Some examples are:

Constitutional law classes
State law classes
Defensive tactics training
Physical training (exercise)
Ethics training
Diversity training
Traffic law classes
Firearm's training
Emergency vehicle operations
Driving under the influence enforcement
Drug recognition classes
Gang awareness
Terrorism awareness training
Report writing

This is not an all inclusive list. There is a lot of training that police officers perform on a daily, monthly, or yearly basis.

Most states have mandatory training requirements before you can become a police officer as well as after you become a certified police officer. Most officers must maintain a certain level of training to maintain their certification.

I hope this help out.

Good luck and best wishes!
