Question
I have a private drive and for years people have been blocking it. I've always just knocked on doors or honked and people have moved. Recently our neighborhood has gotten REALLY bad. Tonight My daughter and her 2 kids and I were leaving and the driveway was about 25% blocked again so I went next door to ask if it was their car, they said no so my daughter honked her horn. 4 young women emerged from the house across the street and my daughter said "you can't park there" they ignored her so she said it again and they said we're not in you f-ing driveway stupid b****. She told them just to move it and not park there again and they said theyd all 4 come back and f her up (sorry for the language). so I'm done being nice. What are my rights as far as my drive way? What do I do when they're in it? I'm not going to allow my family to be bullied like that. Is it illegal for them to black our drive? What do I do? Thanks

Well you are not wrong, they cannot block your driveway. It is Illegal.
In Florida it's FSS (Florida State Statue) 316.1945 (1)(b)1:
316.1945 Stopping, standing, or parking prohibited in specified places.--
(1) Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device, no person shall:
b) Stand or park a vehicle, whether occupied or not, except momentarily to pick up or discharge a passenger or passengers:
1. In front of a public or private driveway.
So the next time they block it call the police. They can make them move, ticket them, or tow the vehicles, or all three. If you do not live in Florida, let me know what state and I will look up your states law.
Also it might not be a bad idea to photograph or videotape the incident. But call the police first.
Good luck and I am sorry you have to put up with something like that, but you do have rights to your property, and they are violating it.
