Question
Let's say an adult finds themself lying in the middle of a field. They have no idea who they are (amnesia or something similar). They try to recall anything that could help them remember who they are, but they cannot. They have no identification on them. No one he comes into contact recognizes him. So, he goes to the police. What would the police do to help in this situation, or would they refer him to another place/service?

Answer
Well, there are a number of scenarios that come to mind, the first being he would be run through the system, his fingerprints would be checked and his photo would be the subject of a widespread appeal for info.  Also, the police have excellent contacts witht he media.  There would be a good likelihood that the individual was local so the police would get the evening news to run the story.  They would also check numerous missing persons reports in that the police are the agency of focus for missing people.  Hope this helps.
