Question
Let's say an adult finds themself lying in the middle of a field. They have no idea who they are (amnesia or something similar). They try to recall anything that could help them remember who they are, but they cannot. They have no identification on them. No one he comes into contact recognizes him. So, he goes to the police. What would the police do to help in this situation, or would they refer him to another place/service?

Answer
Luke,
He would be photographed, and fingerprinted. They would check for "missing persons" reports in the area. They could call in other social services to assist, eg., mental health professionals etc.
His FPC ( finger print classification) would be dispatched to FBI, and checked through their systems.
Public service spots could be used on area TV stations. And, Dental charts as a last resort could be obtained.
Sometimes, clothing can be a great lead, laundry markings etc.
Hope this is helpful.
