Question
Dear Sir, my son was mugged for his birthday bike,I phoned the police within 15mins, with the boys name, his mothers name & maiden name,(I knew this as I was her other son's teacher)the school the boy went to and her home address, the police went to her address but she had rented out her council home the police said they would find out where she was from the boys school,it is now 6 months and I have heard nothing, i would be grateful for your advice on what I should do next.

Answer
Hi Debra,

I would suggest the following:

1. Try and contact the officer who was dealing with the case. Try and find out why the information you provided wasnt acted upon.

2. If you are not happy then complain - in writing - to either the local station commander or write to the chief officer at the headquarters - the address should be available in the phone book. Dont try to ring and complain - you will get passed from pillar to post.

Regards

Neil
