Question
QUESTION: I was dq'd from a dept last year, which I don't think I should have been, but I am currently in a hiring process now with another dept in another state, and i did not tell them about being dq'd last year. Is it likely for them to find out with out me telling them?

ANSWER: Howard,

It really depends on how deep of a background check they are going to conduct. Most states do not communicate with one another concerning that kind of thing, but you never know.

I would not lie on the background if you are asked anything concerning your disqualification, if you know the reason.

Hope this helps.

Good luck and best wishes!

QUESTION: Thanks I really didnt want to lie, and I know I shouldnt have, but now its at the point of no return. I dont have any kind of record, and spent nine years in the military, Im just hoping they dont find out. Can they see something like that when they check your credit?

Answer
Howard,

I am not sure what you are talking about as far as you mentioning your credit??

If you are having some sort of credit problem, they will probably find out about it if they conduct a credit check on you.

There are all kinds of things a good investigator can find out during a background check, it really just depends on how much they want to dig at it and what they are looking for.

Not sure if this helps anymore, good luck!
