Question
I am 17 year old, smart, intelligent, has ability of a detective. However, the only thing i don't have is "The U.S. citizen".It will take me 2 more year to finish high school, and when i finish the high school it also takes me 3 more year to become a U.S. citizen. So can i enroll in the training or i have to wait for 3 more years? is it ok if people put me in the training , and by the time i finish the course i also become a U.S. citizen?

Answer
Tuyen,

You have to be a Citizen to be a Police Officer, so while your waiting you should take the college courses needed for Criminal Justice. If that's what your interested in. As for the Police academy, I know in Ohio you only have one (1) year to get hired unless you want to take the academy over again. Hope this helped somewhat.
