Question hey im cory,
I had a few questions about becoming a cop. First off, how many years of college does it take, does it matter what college, and the steps to becoming a cop
Answer Hi Cory,
Now a lot of Departments require a 4 yr degree to get hired. And a lot of Departments give extra credit on their entrance exams if you have a degree. Some also give extra credit if you have your Peace officer training done. Most Departments don't require a degree in Criminal Justice though. As for the college goes, it really doesn't matter what college as long as it's a recognized college and not some fly by night off the Internet. A lot of your questions depends on what State and area your in. I would contact your local Department and see what it takes to get on there. I'm sure someone would be glad to help you out. If not give me some more info and I will try to help you out further.
