Question
I know this question has been asked, but my scenerio is quite different. If a pedestrian was killed from a car hitting them and their partner was one of the witnesses, would they be questioned at the scene or down at the station. How long does such questioning usually last for?

Answer
Michelle,

When possible the officer on the scene would attempt to get what information he could there at the scene. But it's not out of the question to bring someone in for further questioning by maybe a traffic accident investigator. The questioning can take from several minutes to several hours, depending on the circumstances. Hope this helped somewhat.
