Question"Hi i am doing a Senior paper on detectives and police and i really couldn't find anyone to interview so they gave me this web site.. I just wanted to know.
How did you like your job?
What things did you not like about your job?
Can you give me a description on your job?
Was there many advancement options?
Would you recommend your job?
How long did it take you to get to your position?
Does your job have a friendly atmosphere?
What type of hours did you work?
Are employees treated well?
If you had the choice to go into a different career field would you?
thanks

AnswerBrittany, this is a very specific set of questions! I will do my best but it will be rather short. I love my job. Twenty yrs broken down as a road officer, K9 handler and trainer, detective and bomb technician and alas supervisor! If I didnt love my job I wouldnt have taken it on as a career. I always recommend this area of public service. The atmosphere is difficult. Outside of the workforce, the tendency for friendship dwindles. Its the nature of the beast. The work schedules vary from 7 am to 3 pm 3-11 and 11-7. Then you have 6 am to 6pm and the 6-6 mids. And of course you have the 9-5 day work. It varies on the agency needs. All employees get fair and equal treatment under the law. Ask a disgruntled employee and you obviously will get a different answer, but its the law. I wouldnt do my career any different. Hope this helps, Paul
