Question
My son was involved in a hit and run in 03, in florida, he had a fender bender with a truck and then the truck hit a car, everyone was fine no auto damage, no injuries, so they all left(they were at a stop when it happened)later the girl in the car went to the hospital claiming injuries, (it recently was dropped due to no info, and no injuries)we got a lawyer(wasn't very helpful) he plead guilty, paid fines, lost his license(temp) and comm service, now it's biting him in the butt as he's trying to get  better job, and they have him with a felony, was it a felony back in 03 before new laws took affect in 06 and what can he do to fix this?
thanks Linda

Answer
Linda,

To be honest I don't know if leaving the scene of an accident was a felony on 03. I hate to say it but the only way I can think of to make this go away is to have his record expunged. Which means you would most likely have to hire an attorney. I would;d check with your local clerk of courts office before contacting an attorney. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
