Question
i would like to no a little about s.w.a.t., both for a school project and for a future corer.  first off,  were do swat train? do they train with the military at times? are there any sayings or symbols for swat teams?  and finally, i was thinking of joining the marine's infantry.  would this training help me with swat training and help me get picked?

thanks for your time

Answer
John:

SWAT train with the agency they belong to.  Rarely train with the military due to state and federal laws prohibiting that.  SWAT teams usually use the same call signs and codes that the 'regular' police use.  Yes, Marine Corps Infantry training will help you with getting selected for SWAT school.  You will, however, have to get selected for the Police academy, and do some time as a patrol officer before being able to go to the SWAT team.
