Question
I'm currently 1/2 done with my AAS in CJ and should finish my last term on Sept 23,2005.  I've been intrested in law enforcement for some time.  I have searched the internet for physical training tips to help me pass the physical agility but have hardest time with the push-up (women lack the upper body strength). I lift weights, do reps/sets, but it hasnt helped much. Do you have any tips/advice that will help gain upper body strength?
Thank you for your time~

Answer
Hi,
Along with upper body strength, work on hand strength too. Use a tennisball, or something like that.
I wished I had a magic pellet for you, but I don't. My best counsel, is to hit the gym, and consult with a professional trainer.
Another tip, would be to seek out a female officer who is already employed at the agency you are interested in, and inquire on that which is important to you.
Hope this doesn't sound like a dodge, or a light-weight answere, but it makes sense to me.
good luck.
