Question
How long to you have to be a police officer to become a swat team member?

Thanks for the question.
It really depends on what agency you are working with.
Most large law enforcement agencies might have a 2-5 year period of time before you can be eligible for a SWAT position. Some smaller agencies might need the position filled sooner and have a shorter waiting time before someone can apply for the position.
I have seen officers wait years to get on SWAT and I have seen others get on SWAT within a year of being hired, so it really just depends on what the agency needs are and what they are looking for.
