Careers: Teaching/Question about languages in the classroom

Question
Dear Miss Stephanie,

I am currently attending Robert Morris University(RMU) in pursuit of my BSBA. At this time, there aren't any advanced language courses available here, so some classmates and I are doing some research to see if instituting languages would be viable.

RMU is a traditional business school, but they also have education and nursing majors available.  They have just begun a pre-med major as well.

So, my question to you is this, given the world is getting smaller, which other languages do you think would be best to know to get a leg up on other candidates?

Thank you for your time.
Tracy

Answer
Hi Tracy,

I don't know how much I can help you considering I'm an education major (and teacher), but given that the Spanish community has now become the majority population in America... Spanish might be an option. On the business end, I believe Asian languages are on the rise as well. Hope this helps... I'm not a linguist! :)
