Question
Hello
I have finished my studies in the Faculty of Science (Mathematics section) in Egypt and i am supposed to be a Math teacher but i need to move to the USA OR Canada and there, they won't admitt the quality of educaton i have in order to let me work so could u plz tell me how can i make use of what i have already studied in my university before in making me qualified officially in the USA/Canada (by having their own equivalent certificate in Mathematics) without the need to re-study all over again (so as to save enormous money, time and effort if i have 2 study from scratch).

PS i studied different subjects thru my whole 4 university years such as:

1. Differential and Integral calculus
2. Linear Algebra
3. Differential Geometry
4. Differential Equations
5. Mechanics
And lots of others that belong to either Pure OR Applied Math.

My English is pretty well and i am trying hard 2 take the IELTS exam soon

THANK YOU!

Answer
In my opinion, the key item is to make sure that your English is impeccable! This will open many doors for you. In addition you will want to take the Praxis II tests in the content areas you are interested in. These tests are content area tests which evaluate your subject area expertise. For more information on the Praxis tests go to http://www.ets.org/praxis/
If you can meet these two goals I think that you will have relatively little difficulty securing a teaching position.
Math teachers, in particular, are is short supply in many parts of the US.
Finally, the following link will lead you to a site where you can peruse the teaching requirements of all 50 states!
