Question
I am credentialed and an LPC (a licensed professional counselor) and am interested in writing mental health books.  I am thinking of using a pseudonym or pen name to protect my privacy, but am wondering if my credentials can be used under a different name?

Thank you for your help with this!
Anna

Answer
Hi Anna,

Many thanks for your question and my apologies for the delay in replying.  I have never used a pen name but I would assume that you can use your credentials.  The pen name is really you and you do have the credentials so I assume that you can use them.  The only problem would be if someone wanted to verify the credentials of the pen named person that you are using.

You might want to try asking this question to some of the other writers in this expert section as they might have some further insight.

Sorry if this has not been the answer you were looking for.

Kind regards,

Amanda
