QuestionQUESTION: I am looking for a career in grant writing.can you suggest me a great book to read for grant writing to excel in this field?
ANSWER: Hi Bhawna,
Many thanks for your question in relation to grant writing. When it comes to grant writing I would definitely recommend that you have a number of books at your disposal. These will be essential when creating proposals that really work. There are a large number of great websites about grant writing but when it comes to acutally writing up your proposals it works better if you have some books to hand. Amazon is great for finding books and I would recommend having a number of them.
Here are a number of them:
Winning Grants Step by Step (The Jossey-Bass Nonprofit Guidebook Series)
Proposals That Work: A Guide for Planning Dissertations and Grant Proposals
Perfect Phrases for Writing Grant Proposals
Start Your Own Grant Writing Business (Entrepreneur's Startup)
Grant Application Writers Handbook, Fourth Edition
I'm afraid I wasn't able to link to these items in answering your question but a quick search for the phrase Grant Writing will bring them up on Amazon.
I hope this helps but if you need any further help please do not hesitate to ask.
Kind regards,
Amanda

I have one more query that if I work for a organization that is not a non profit one ,then do you think this experienece will be considerd by my potential employers in future?Should I work for for such a organization?
Does it help in my career as a grant writer?
AnswerHi Bhawna,
Any experience that you get will be beneficial in the future even if it is for a non profit organisation. Working with this group will also help to grow your grant writing skills and like any freelance writing career the more you do the more experience you will get. Any experience that you can get will be looked at by potential employers.
Hope this helps to answer your questions.
All the best,
Amanda
