Question
Hi! I would just like to know if, when you have self published your book and later you give a publisher rights to sell your book, do they send you on book tours? Or do you still have the responsibility to organise them yourself? Also, if you have self oublished a successful book and a publisher wants to buy it, do you have to sell the book or can you continue doing it yourself? Thanks for your advice!

Answer
Hi Lisa,

Thanks for your question. In relation to publishing no matter what route you choose, self published or publisher, it is your responsibility to do the marketing.  Publishers do not market your book for you.  If you have an agent then they will be responsible for setting up book tours, signings, etc.

Also just to mention that a lot of publishers won't buy books that have already been self published.  If they do it is entirely up to you whether you want to sell it or not.

Hope this answers your question.

Kind regards,

Amanda
