I am a junior in high school, writing a paper for English about the career I'd like. I'd like to be a writer however some of the questions just don't make any sense and I was looking for some help. There are 3 of them which I feel I need help on as I have been unable to find them after a good hour of searching the web.

1.What expenses are involved in setting up this profession?

2.How can start up costs be underwritten, financed or deferred?

3.What is the prospect for employment in this occupation?

Hi Alex,

As a freelance writer your expenses will be your internet connection.  This is the main expense that you will have.  The way to underwrite your costs will depend on the country you live in.  YOu will be self employed so it will depend on the way taxes work in your country.

There is plenty of work for freelancers depending on the area and subject that you choose to write in.  Copywriters earn the most money and you will need to study to become a copywriter.  Other areas include writing press releases, articles, website content, e-books, etc.  

You do not become employed as you are self employed so you will be getting clients that you will work with.
