Careers: Writing/online writing job

QuestionI am a psychology post graduate and working as a professional writer in US based company. I want to get more such jobs online to earn more. Let me know how it will be possible.
AnswerHello R:
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in my experience, it is very difficult for a writer to make much money online. There is a good market in articles, but the pay is dismal: 1000 words may get you $10-12. I have many years of experience; at this time I am making $0.11 a word. The reason is, there are too many of us! And way too many writers willing to work for nothing or almost nothing.
You may have an advantage due to your education, but it would be slight. If you get a Ph.D. you may be considered an "expert," meaning you may be paid a little more.
The real money lies in writing for print magazines, but it is difficult to break in there. Many magazines say they will report back in 2-3 months, but often don't reply at all, and you are left wondering if it would be safe to send it to another mag. I've been told the trade mags are easier to break into - I would try the psychology mags if I were you.
Beyond that, there are the jobs lists: craigslist.com, monster.com, etc.
I hope this helps. If it does, a nice rating would be greatly appreciated. I am proud of my high score over 800 questions.
And good luck with your writing!
