Caribbean for Visitors/Safe in Jamaica?

Question
Hello...My 19 y/o daughter is planning a 5 day trip to Jamaica with her girlfriend. These are very responsible young ladies (do not drink, etc). How safe would they be to travel there by themselves...they are booked in a cottage type hotel on Runaway Bay. They booked through a travel group, but I believe they will be pretty much on their own once there. This is a first for all of us and of course we are very concerned for their safety. Thank-you!
As for Jamaica, I would highly recommend an all-inclusive hotel for any young travelers. This is not a destination I would advise for two young girls to go wandering around the island unescorted. Not that it is not safe, but the locals can be a little pushy sometimes when it comes to Americans buying their goods and you don't want them to feel pressured. If they are doing an all-inclusive, they should have plenty to do within the resort.
